Description
In this episode we follow Dr. Martin Hawthorn on a three day preliminary visit to Dunchester and to the School at Abbot's Grove. We discover that a great deal of weight is already being placed on t...he unofficial role as a "public relations" figure which he is expected to play; though he does not discover this until near the end of the episode. When he and Heddlestone, his new headmaster, meet, some heat is generated below the surface. By the time Hawthorn returns to his home m London he realises he has landed himself in something of a fix. We are left wondering how he can possibly adjust to the requirements of his new post in the following September.
