Description
After an opening comment on the curriculum field from Professor Malcolm Skilbeck, who is both the external assessor and the examiner for the course, John Raynor introduces the programme - having ea...rlier interviewed not only Professor Skilbeck, but also Professor John Merritt who is the Chairman of the E283 Course Team. John Raynor uses excerpts from these interviews to create an overview of the course as a whole. The difficulties faced by the Course Team in the preparation of materials are described, together with difficulties which are inherent in the field of the curriculum itself. These descriptions refer more specifically to the issues of defining aims and objectives, and to the contrast between the rational and the intuitive teacher. Finally, the programme gives the student some guidance as to what is to be expected from him when he writes his final examination.
