Description
One aspect of the relationship between personality growth and learning in children is the difference in learning styles and strategies which they exhibit. In the television programme which is also... part of this unit, Asher Cashdan is shown giving tests to five 9 year old children from the north London primary school, in order to identify the learning styles which they exhibit in a test situation. The tests which he uses are Kagan's Matching Familiar Figures (MFF) and Witkins Embedded Figures Test (EFT). In this radio programme, Asher Cashdan and the two teachers try to relate the learning styles which six children exhibit in the classroom, to the objective assessment of these styles made by using the tests shown in the television programme. While listening to the programme, students can examine photographs of the six children, two of whom are also seen in the Television programme.
