"Philosophers talking" is a recording of a discussion between Geoff Esland, author of Block 2, David Stringer, author of Block 1 and Richard Pring, Lecturer in Curriculum Studies at the U...niversity of London Institute of Education, whose paper 'Knowledge out of Control' is reprinted in Block 10. Gwynn Pritchard, one of the BBC producers, working on the course, introduces and chairs the discussion. They discuss the position of philosophy, specifically linguistic philosophy, in relation to other modes of thinking, especially with regard to Block 10's relation to the rest of the course.
