Description
The instruments on which Medieval and Renaissance music was originally played have recently been revived by certain groups of musicians who have demonstrated by the success of new, more authentic p...erformances, how brilliantly the original instruments can bring early music to life. One of the most distinguished of these contemporary musicians is David Munrow. This programme consists of a talk by him, illustrated with performances by a group he has assembled: James Bowman (countertenor), James Tyler (lute, viol, crumhorn and curtal), Christopher Hogwood (Harpsichord, harp and percussion), Oliver Brookes (rebec, viol and crumhorn).
