"This programme is part of the Renaissance and Reformation block (units 20-27; and deals with Luther's appearance at the Diet of Worms in 1521 Gordon Rupp, The Dixie Professor of Ecclesiastica...l History, Cambridge, describes the events immediately leading up to the Diet and the proceedings of the Diet in this semi-dramatised programme. The programme is of interest to Reformation and Lutheran studies at all levels and, with the television programme "The Spread of Lutheranism 1525 - 1555" by G.R. Elton, Professor of English Constitutional History at the University of Cambridge, makes a vivid introduction to the period."
