Professor Stuart Hall explains that he first met Williams in the 1950s, in Oxford and that Williams was a formative and important influence on his life and work in the field of Cultural Studies. Dr Richard Hoggart talks about the importance of adult education in the post-war years for young left wing intellectuals. Dr Terry Eagleton states that Williams was influential in him becoming a Socialist Literary critic. Professor Graham Martin concludes with a reading from 'Towards 2000'.
