Description
This programme looks at the recent survey carried out by the American based Centre for the assessment of Educational progress. The focus of attention in the programme was the alleged connection bet...ween pupils' performance in mathematics and the amount of time spent watching television- Christine Shiu of the Open University gave her opinions on mathematics education in Britain today and Moire Messenger-Davies, author of "Television is Good For Your Kids", refuted the idea that television has a derogatory effect on children's learning.
