Description
In this programme the book 'Norwood Was a Difficult School' was featured. The headmistress in 1966, Jean Lawrence, told how she started to turn this very bad school round. George Varnara, the prese...nt head, brought the story up to date. David Hart of the NAHT then gave his views on headteacher stress and the problem of filling vacant headteacher posts facing many authorities. Lastly the programme looked at the new rules on charging for school activities. Philip Lott, a senior solicitor for AMMA, explained the legal position and gave his views on what might happen in the future.
