'The programme follows Richard Allen as he takes a iourney to India, prompted by those of E M Forster in 1913 and 1921. He contrasts some of his own impressions with those of Forster and goes on to... explore some aspects of Colonial and modern India. He gives his feelings on his role in the India of today as he continues on his passage to several exotic locations. He describes the events of a long railway journey and the startling differences experienced from those of other more familiar travels by train.
