Description
As the cognitive abilities of children develop, they are able to approach problems with strategies which are quite different and much more efficient than their formerly unstructured approach. In th...is programme children of various ages and stages of development are asked to play a version of the game of Twenty Questions, where one of a set of objects has to be detected by means of asking questions, to which the answer can only be 'yes' or 'no'. A range of strategies is revealed from the very sophisticated, where a minimal set of constraint questions are used, to the totally simple, where the questioner works through all possible specific questions before coming to an answer.
