Description
In this programme an ex-President of the National Union students (1969-71), now Deputy Leader of the ILEA, is pressed by professor Fowler on how far his change from poacher to gamekeeper has affect...ed his views on equality of educational opportunity, and parental freedom of choice in education. Shortly after the programme was recorded, the General Election of February 1974 put both speakers into government - Gerry Fowler as Minister of State at the Department of Education and Science, and Jack Straw as Advisor to the Secretary of State for Social Services.
