Description
This is the first of four programmes which deals with the subject of analysis, both harmonic and stylistic. In this programme Professor Gerald Hendrie uses a simple hymn tune to introduce the subje...ct of basic harmonic analysis. The programme also contains an element of aural training and revision of material convered earlier in the course. As a TMA exercise students are asked to mark the score of music in the Broadcast Notes at the points at which deliberate alterations in the harmony are made when played by Professor Hendrie at the end of the programme.
