Description
The programme begins with John Oates introducing Gordon Wells and asking him how the collection of young childrens' recorded speech is organized. The discussion that follows is illustrated with exa...mples from the speech of one child recorded over a period of eighteen months. The programme also deals with the mother-child relationship and the extent to which this is a factor in the child acquisition of language.
