Description
This programme looks at staff relationships within school and "the role of "the headmaster and of the various unions involved. We hear the views of Mike Brighouse, headmaster of a primary... school and immediate past president of the National Association of Head Teachers; Brian Oakley-Smith, Deputy Education Officer for Cambridgeshire, Beverley Curtis NUT representative and Brian Foot, retired headmaster, puts a historical perspective on the relationships between the head, unions and education committee. The aim is to explore the conflicts between the head as a member of a professional teaching organisation, a member of a union and as a manager of people. The network of relationships is a complex one with several unions representing different categories of staff within a school. In addition, overlook and directly affecting school decision making is the education authority.
