Description
David Stringer discusses the work of Noom Chomsky with Jean Seaton and Bernard Harrison. Their discussion stems from an article by J.R. Searle - "Chomsky's revolution in Linguistics", whi...ch is part of the reading for Block 6. In this, article, two aspects of Chomsky's work are questioned his distinction between competence and performance and his claim that his theories fall within the tradition of rationalist thought - and most of the discussion concentrates on these two points.
