Description
Richard Bartholomew talks to course tutors, Dr Liz Bellamy and Dr Mary Bonwick. Liz Bellamy discusses the selection of texts in the OU course 'The Enlightenment', arguing that students need to be a...ware that enlightenment texts represent only one of the possible strands that could have been chosen for the course. Mary Bonwick argues, similarly, that it is important, when studying any individual text, to be aware that it is open to several different interpretations, and that many of the texts of the period are characterised by ambiguity and contradiction.
