Description
Angus Calder and Keith Whitlock of the Open University contrast the work of two rural poets of the 18th century, George Crabbe and Robert Burns. They discuss Crabbe's social environment in Suffolk,... where he was a parson, with the background of Burns, who was brought up as an agricultural labourer in Scotland, and the influence which these backgrounds had on their poetry.
