Description
In part recorded in the part of California, US, known as Silicon Valley, this programme tells the first part of the history of microelectronics: Three of the major world figures in the development ...of silicon integrated circuits tell the story from their perspective, in interviews recorded exclusively for the series Geoff Dummer, the UK electronics engineer who forecast 'solid circuits' in a landmark technical paper in 1952, Jack Kilby (recorded down the line from Dallas Texas) who was the first to make a silicon circuit, in 1958. Gordon Moore, the co-founder of the Intel corporation in 1968, makers of the first micro-processors, and one of the founding fathers of the micro-electronics industry.
