Description
The presenter, with Peter Burman, Director of Conservation Studies in the Institute of Advanced Architectural Studies at York University make a 'pilgrimage' to recently constructed places of worshi...p in Britain today, to see how the buildings serve their function as 'Gods Houses' and to learn more about the religions concerned. In this first of 4 programmes they visit the Hindu Temple in Neasden and the central Islamic mosque in Birmingham. In Neasden they meet the Swami and Tarim Patel, and in Birmingham, Dr. Mohammad Naseem (Chairman of the mosque) and Dr. Haifaa Jawad, Lecturer in Islamic Studies at Westhill College, Birmingham.
