Description
When you mention treasure many people automatically think of gold or silver coins and jewellery. But buried treasure can take many forms. This programme looks at who owns our buried past, who shoul...d own it and what we should do with it. Areas covered include problems with some metal "detectorists" who steal from excavations, about human remains, and aspects to the laws pertaining to Treasure Trove. The programme also looks at where these finds should be stored. On an international level, Donald Easton talks about "Priam's Gold" and the interesting problem of who owns it.
