Description
This programme explores the debates about euthanasia both in Holland and in the United Kingdom. In Holland assisted suicide and euthanasia are still a criminal offence though, since 1993, if a doct...or accused of these acts follows certain regulations and guidelines he may be able to put forward a successful defence in court. In the UK recent changes concern advance directives which are about withdrawing or withholding treatment from an ill person who lacks the capacity to make their own decisions
