Description
In this concluding programme Professor Mulryne concentrates on the languages of Shakespeare's theatre explaining how both verbal and visual signs are significant to the understanding of Shakespear...e's plays. He argues that the reading of theatre language is a no less strenuous activity than that of learning any other new language as students have to be alert to many' different' signs and signals. In describing Shakespeare's 'language of sight as well as hearing' he draws together relevant material from the workshops, booklets, cassettes of the course as well as the play texts themselves.
