The Bretton Woods conference, set up by the allies at the end of the Second World War, established the main institutions of the 'new world order' - the IMF, the UN and the World Bank. Dir Hans Sing...er, an active participant in this new order, tells the story and looks back at the successes and the failures of these institutions as they attempted to address the problems of world development. Lord Bauer tells us why he believes these initiatives have done more harm than good.
