Description
Gill Perry talks about the Blaue Reiter Almanac, which first appeared in Munich in 1912, and about the group of artists and writers who contributed to it. These included Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Ma...rc and August Macke. Unlike other avant-garde groups, the Blaue Reiter group wished to establish themselves as the leaders of a broad European movement, embracing in their exhibitions and almanac not only avant-garde artists, but also German woodcuts, primitive folk-art and children's paintings.
