Description
Quentin Cooper reports on developments across the sciences. Each week scientists describe their work, conveying the excitement they feel for their research projects. In the second of these special... programmes Material world heads to Falmer in Sussex - home of Sussex University. In a programme dedicated to the nature of experimentation, Quentin Cooper asks is it really necessary for a scientific education? According to Erasmus Darwin's definition 'A fool ... is a man who never tried an experiment in his life.' At Sussex there appear to be some such fools, students who are conducting scientific experiments for the very first time.
