Eleanor Gaw worked as a Tutor Counsellor for The Open University between 1977 and 1988 on Arts Foundation Modules and tutored students in the Compounds and H Blocks of the Maze and Long Kesh Prison. She also held a variety of part-time posts in the Belfast Open University Office including the post of Assistant Senior Counsellor in which she dealt with some aspects of prison work.
