Description
Philip is a Staff Tutor and Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with The Open University.  Born in Dublin his family moved to Norfolk in England when he was eight years old and he grew up there. After University in Scotland where he studied Politics and Philosophy he moved to Belfast in 1992 where he has lived since. Studying part-time and working in non-academic jobs Philip did a PhD at Queen’s University Belfast in Political Theory. After this he started teaching part-time at Queen’s University and in September 2006 he joined The Open University in Ireland as an Associate Lecturer tutoring courses in Politics ...and the Environment. In September 2009 he was appointed as a Staff Tutor and Lecturer in Social Sciences in Ireland based in the Belfast office.  Philip has been co-leader of the Ireland Oral History Project since 2010 this later became the ‘Time to think’ Project and has been an interviewer for the Project.
