Clip 17: | Examining a coastal environment to understand geological processes |

Clip 18: | Grain size measurements of sand taken from different areas of a beach |

Duration: | 00:05:19 |
Date: | 1971 |
The first two clips in this theme look at coastal environments and are taken from S100 programme 26 “Earth History”. The final clip in this theme is from S100 programme 22 “Earth structure”. This clip looks at the primary P and secondary S waves produced in seismic events.
In clip 17 Professor Pentz gives an explanation of how we can find out how rocks were made by studying what is happening today. Dr. Wilson examines a coastal environment and shows how processes occurring within it are producing sediments.

Clip 18 shows the process of measuring sand grain sizes to determine the differences between environments and explain how they occur.
