Description
A large number of shroud pins were recovered from St Michael's Church, Walton Hall during restoration in the 1970s by The Open University. Shroud pins were used to pin together the burial shrouds in which the body was wrapped. It has also been suggested that several of the pins found were from a Lace School held in the Church. These schools were common in Britain from the 17th to the 19th centuries. The pins are now archived at Milton Keynes Museum.
