Description
During the 1970s St Michael's Church underwent major restoration and several artefacts from the Medieval and post-Medieval period were unearthed. Several fragments of clay tobacco pipes were discovered in both the church and surrounding areas at Walton. These date from the 17th to the 19th centuries. As a general rule, the wider the stem bores the earlier the pipes are. The pipe fragments are now archived at Milton Keynes Museum.
