Naomi joined The Open University as a member of the administrative staff in the Belfast Office in its first year of teaching in 1971. From the mid-1970s her work involved looking after the contractual arrangements and payments of tutors and the allocation of students to tutors and she was involved in the administration of the Prison scheme. She later became Manager of Teaching Services with responsibility for all the administrative work attached to Open University teaching staff. Naomi was a founding member of the Ireland Oral History Project in 2010 this later became the ‘Time to think’ Archive and also administered the finance relate...d to it. After her retirement in 2012 she worked as a volunteer with the Oral history Project in quality control and data protection issues for audio recordings and transcripts.
