Dear student, You are cordially invited to a lunchtime ‘cocktail’ party, hosted by Prof Peter Taylor and Helen Cooke from the Open Programme team! Peter and Helen will be using the art of mixo...logy to help describe how the Open degree provides students with a unique opportunity to combine complimentary subjects based on their own personal ‘tastes’. There will of course be a serious side to the session too ... Peter and Helen will be using the topic of alcohol to demonstrate how a multidisciplinary approach can offer different perspectives on the same issue. For example, the chemistry of alcohol, the impact on human health, the role of alcohol in society and the media, and alcohol advertising, among others.
