Description
John Philippart was a British military writer and editor. He became a clerk in the War Office in 1811. He was Chancellor of the Order of St John of Jerusalem (a British Royal Order of Chivalry) for over forty years. He compiled many books of reference relating to the army and edited a journal called 'The Military Panorama'.
