Description
The Rt Rev Thomas Dealtry was an Anglican Bishop. Following his ordination in 1828 he became a curate in Cambridge. The following year he was sent to Bengal, India where he served as a chaplain until 1835 in the Old Mission Church, Calcutta. In 1835 he became Archdeacon of Calcutta. He returned to England in 1848 and became pastor of St John's Church in London. However he soon returned to India where he served as the Bishop of Madras from 1850 until his death in 1861.
