Description
George Grote was an English historian who is best known for his work 'A History of Greece' published in 12 volumes between 1846 and 1856. He became a Radical MP for the City of London in 1831, resigning in 1841. Grote co-organised the faculties and curriculum for University College London with John Stuart Mill and others, eventually becoming President of the establishment in 1868.
