Description
An important aspect of sociological enquiry is the relatedness of social phenomena. Adopting a case study approach, Dr Ruth Finnegan, Lecturer in Sociology at the Open University, examines a networ...k of relationships centering on a pre-school playgroup. She talks to the playgroup leader and to people who, in a personal or institutional capacity, have had contact with the group. Finally Dr Finnegan is able to show that sociology, by providing a framework of analysis which enables us to see relationships between individuals, groups and institutions, can perform an integrating function for the other social science disciplines.
