Description
This documentary film, shot in a hostel for the mentally disabled in Lancashire, shows in considerable detail the small group interaction of the hostel's residents. It demonstrates staff/resident, ...staff/staff, and resident/resident relationships with considerable frankness. The programme follows the teaching exercises contained in the Seymour film and is related more specifically to the social interaction part (Block 2). Professor Aaron Cicourel, Professor of Sociology, San Diego University California, discusses in a radio programme the research which one of the course team members, David Boswell, carried out in this same hostel.
