Description
The film documents for the guerilla war in Algeria come mainly from the official side, and included here are clips of riots, raids, roadblocks, etc. On the opposits side is film of guerrillas in ca...mp, in training, and in secret hospitals, and also footage which shows the kind of damage committed in the 'classic' guerilla war - the destruction of strategic installations and the spreading of panic by the selective killing of enemy collaborators. Against this, Clive Emsley, sets the official line, which tries to show life 'going on' under the protection of a strong army and a mainly loyal population. But there were other complications in Algeria, and these are referred to in dramatic clips relating to the army insurrection and the activities of the O.A.S.
