Description
The origin of the Tertiary granites on Skye has been much debated by geologists. professor Ian Gass looks at several pieces of the field evidence that will influence the student's understanding of ...the origin of the granites. aerial shots are used to show the landscape of the Cuillin and the red Hills, and visits are made to the Ben an Dhubaich granite, the creag strollamus granite, the composite sill at Irishman's Point, the layered gabbros at the head of loch coruisk, and to Camasunary Bay where Professor Gass shows that the Torridonian Sandstone has been rheomorphosed to form the Coire Uiagneach granite.
