Footage description: Thompson introduces the programme which will analyse some TV clips for what they reveal of the various organisations. Clip from TV 1 about the nature of the job being advertised. Clip from TV 6 which reveals the values and hierarchy of the organisation, the army. More clips from TV 6 and 7 which show hierarchy and deference to seniority. Clips from TV 3 and 4 which show need for right motivation for the industrial concern. Salaman continues by drawing some conclusion on what can be learnt from watching organisational selection interviews. He shows a number of clips from the TV programmes which show how the interview is partly a negotiation. The two BBC job clips show two different interview techniques and how they are received. Clips from the Army Board films show how some evidence runs against the Board's decided position. Thompson sums up the programme and shows two final clips of interviewees trying to bring off a good interview. Credits.
