Description
This programme looks at a system of worker participation which operates at an electroplating company situated close to Birmingham. The participation scheme centres around a company council, at whic...h representatives from the shop floor meet together with management to discuss any matters they wish to raise concerning the running of the company. Three people are identified in this programme and their attitudes towards participation are examined. The managing director, the works manager and a shop floor representative, are interviewed in their work and leisure surroundings about the advantages and drawbacks of participation, and about the way in which their attitudes towards their work and towards each other have changed since participation began.
