Footage description: Mike Bayliss describes seeing his son for the first time, while Babs Bayliss outlines her hospital routine. They describe their routines at home and how they fit their life around the baby's. Colin Southern describes his feelings at the birth, the change in their social life etc. Flora looks at her hospital routines and how she has changed them at home. Both Flora and Babs comment and demonstrate the art of burping. Both couples describe the patterns of sleeping, feeding and wakefulness, and how playful or grizzly the babies are, and what can be done. The reactions of one of the babies to various discs is shown as an example of engaging their attention. Enjoyment of sound is also stressed. Both couples outline their different approaches to getting their babies to go to sleep and to evening crying.
