Harry Read is a retired industria...l blacksmith who, for most of his working life, was employed by the British Rail Engineering Works at Wolverton, Buckinghamshire. After talking about his youth, his first jobs and his joining the army, for the First War, he concentrates on his time at Wolverton Works during the late '20s and early '30s. The programme is the first of two linked to a student project.
