Description
Hill House, Helensburgh (near Glasgow) was built by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1902. Most of the programme consists of film of the exterior and interior of the building with Sandra Millikin givin...g a detailed examination of the house and Mackintosh's original decoration and furniture. There is a short stills sequence of Mackintosh's earlier Windy Hill house at Kilmacolm, Sandra Millikin uses original photographs of Mackintosh's interiors and readings from his client Walter Blackie's memoirs to trace the early development of his style and the fruitful relationship between client and architect which led to Hill House. Filmed in Scotland
