Description
A performance of scenes from the second half of Shaw's Saint Joan. The first scene presented is the one after Joan's triumph of crowning the King where she realises that to continue her fight she ...must act alone. We then see the major part of the trial scene where Joan is interrogated by the Inquisition and the court of the Bishop of Beauvais. The programme ends with part of Shaw's extraordinary Epilogue where Joan and the other characters collect as ghosts and are greeted by a twentieth century priest from the Vatican.
