Using film of the existing cit...ies, which have changed little, and archive material - drawings and paintings of the 1848 events - the sites and situations of the uprising are shewn. There is also an extended film sequence of two small villages to the south of Cracow, which have also changed little, and where the condition of the peasants is still primitive. Here a preliminary to the 1848 uprising took place in 1846 when the peasants in the area rose against their Polish landlords at the instigation of the Austrian overlords.
