This programme is an introduction to the Second Level Course "Elementary Mathematics for Science and Technology", It has three Presenters — Professor R.M. Pengelly, Course Team Chairman..., Graham Flegg, editor of the set book for the Course, and Professor Alan Jeffrey who is the Course consultant and takes part in the later radio programmes. They explain the abstract ideas covered in earlier parts of the Course and go on to show how these ideas might be applied to physical situations.
