He introduces the Attenborough family, who live at Strelley, and talks to Glen, third of the four children, about what he wants to do. Mr. Dowell, headmaster of Player Secondary talks about the local area. Mark Attenborough working at a lathe talks about his apprenticeship at the Player works. Cliff Attenborough, father of the family, bricklaying. Oates comments on his attitude to the job and aspirations for his family.
