Reynolds describes some additional problems which arise through the presence of the disease. Schematic, animated diagrams of the newborn baby's circulatory system and X-rays of its lungs are used by Eliot to explain how hyaline membrane disease can cause reversion to fetal circulation in the infant. Eliot discusses possible treatment of the disease. Film shots of baby receiving treatment, (artificial respiration, etc.) Film shots of a doctor examining the baby during treatment.
